Cancel the Operation!
This is what actually happened in history.Operation Postponed In August of 1940, the Luftwaffe air force was postponed until another invasion date was set. But, because of their failure to hold air superiority and the unfortunate weather, October 12, 1940 became the new date for OPERATION SEA LION. Operation Sea Lion became a back up until 1942, serving as deception for those who knew of it. If COMMANDER RAEDER was able to successfully continue his building plans in the wake of the soviets defeat, then Operation Sea Lion would not have been necessary. After deciding not to go through with the Operation, HITLER moved on. At that time, America instated the lend-lease act, which allowed them to influence the outcome of the war without actually participating by lending weapons and armaments. Japan, in addition to a few other countries, had joined the Axis powers, but some had turned down Hitlers offer and stayed neutral. As the war continued, there wasn't really a big change, Hitler would attack and the Allied powers would deflect that attack. They matched each other and some were great victories for both, but nothing much changed until December of 1941.

Pearl Harbor after being bombed

America Enters the War In DECEMBER 7, 1941, America was attacked by the Japanese. PEARL HARBOR was bombed by the Japanese, and the American lust for revenge was very high. In a matter of a few days America was at war with Japan as well as Germany. With the help of almost everyone on the home front, America churned out weapons and men before many even knew what was happening. Once America joined, the Allied Forces took a turn for the better. Because of the attack on Pearl Harbor from the Japanese, the Americans made internment camps for the Japanese along the coast, which were unsanitary and as basic as possible. The Great Depression was ended and everyone was focused on the war. There were two wars going on during this time: The European War and the Pacific War. The European war was put to a stop before the Pacific. In the beginning, America and everything they sent were fighting just to get across the Atlantic. They had to fight their way through German U-boats and it only stopped with the invention of the Radar detectors which showed the locations of submarines, which made it easier to spot them.
The Beginning of the End for Hitler
Hitler, desperate by this point, tried to go for the supply lines of the Allied powers. In El Alamein and Stalingrad, Germany faced many losses and still failed to do any damage to the Ally supplies.
The Allied Forces, encouraged by Germany’s losses, proposed a plan of a final invasion. Operation Torch started first and Operation Overlord came in from the opposite angle. Operation Torch was the Allied invasion of Nazi-controlled North Africa and Italy from 1943-1945. A strike through the underbelly made Hitler focus his efforts on that invasion, instead of the one in France, which happened a year later. The Operation started strong, but, because the Axis powers retaliated, the Operation was forced to a crawl, but still moved towards their goal of Germany’s capital, Berlin.

Beaches of Normandy on D-Day

Operation Overlord went from 1944-1945, and was an invasion of Nazi occupation of France. The actual start of the Operation is known D-day, or when Allied forces breached the beaches of Normandy. Slowly, the two fronts of the Allied powers caved in on enemy forces. Germany’s last fight came on December of 1944 and was called the Battle of the Bulge. The attempt failed and depending on how well the Axis powers retaliated, the victory over Hitler would’ve come slowly. In the beginning of 1945, the leaders of the Allied powers met in the Yalta Conference to determine what to do with the opposing countries. Finally, on May 8, 1945, after Hitler’s suicide, the Germans unconditionally surrendered on a day known as V-E Day.

A turn to the Pacific
With Germany defeated, some of the Allied powers turned their attention to the Japanese. A

t the time of the Nazi’s slow defeat, the Japanese were gaining land. As soon as the Allied powers jumped into the war in the Pacific, the Japanese were gradually pushed back. They could then focus all their efforts on the last opposing foe.
The Americans had already suffered from the war on the pacific and had faced major losses. One of the largest was the battle of the Philippines, where the Americans lost to the Japanese and left many behind. The ones captured as POW's were forced on a 65 mile walk which led to many more deaths. The turning point of the war in the pacific was the BATTLE OF MIDWAY. During the Battle of Midway, the Japanese attempted to take over Midway, a northwest Hawaiian Island, but this ended poorly for them. After defeating the Japanese on the mainland and stopping them from advancing, the Americans started the long trek toward the Japanese. The Americans used the term Island Hopping, which let them take over island by island until they were within a short distance from the Japanese mainland. Wanting to end the war quickly and with as little Allied death as possible, the Manhattan project created the atomic bombs, which were later dropped on the cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The horror of the bombs devastated the Japanese and, on September 2, 1945, the Japanese unconditionally surrendered. This became historically known as VJ Day.

Aftermath of World War 2:After the second world war the U.S became a super power which was determined by the two atomic bombs that were made and then dropped, showing that though the U.S regretted it after they weren't afraid to do what they must. A couple years later the Cold war started which was known as the "Cold War" and not any other because it was practically a continual stalemate between the countries because of their fear of the destruction of even one atomic bomb. Really, the war didn't have any big battles, it was full of political tension and neither side wanted to be the one to use their nuclear weapons. So the Cold war would happen and the U.S beat the soviets continuing on in their place a a world super power once again bringing down any opposition they don't like. The world continues to turn and there are (naturally) more wars that are mostly little battles. Many little situations happen but little actually threatens so many lives as the world war two did. Today, the world is only fighting little battles and nothing more. The U.S is still the world power though is in danger of being taken over by China only because of its huge debt to them.
Significance:The significance if Hitlers decision was that the war continued on for more years and millions of people were killed. Hitler decided that it wasn't a good choice to go through with the operation and risk the chance of losing. In general, Millions of Jews were needlessly executed and after pearl Harbor the U.S joined the fight against the Axis powers. After the defeat of the Germans and Japanese the U.S became a world super-power because of the two atomic bomb they dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. So. everyone, moves on and the world continues as we know it. We won't actually know if the decision to stop Operation Sea Lion would have made to big of a difference in the outcome of the world, we do know that though many countries could potentially take down America it still stands as the world power and is a big part in the continual process of the world as we know it.
